About Jennifer
Founder, Productive Conflict LLC
Jen Jones-Patulli, MA, HSDP,
is unique in her field.
She brings identity-based and integrative conflict management techniques together with power intelligence and complexity science models.
Jennifer Jones-Patulli is a conflict management practitioner and leadership coach. For two decades, she’s been a trusted advisor to leaders in Canada and the USA.
Her first experience in management was at a small construction business in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, for five years, where she directly experienced how team conflict could affect the bottom line. In her time there as a leader, she developed methods for ensuring clear communication between management and employees.
Following this experience, she completed a Master’s degree in Conflict Studies at the University of Ottawa (St. Paul’s), specializing in identity-based conflict and integrative bargaining. Following graduation, she was selected from a highly competitive field to join the public service at Public Works and Government Services Canada. While there, she worked on multi-party negotiations, policy development, and high-profile government contract disputes as a conflict management practitioner for procurement disputes.
She moved on to the Canada Border Services Agency, where she focused on workplace disputes, applying tools and methods to create a more collaborative and productive workplace culture. She left government to work as a Consulting Associate at the Human Systems Dynamics Institute in Minneapolis, where she specialized in complexity thinking, and systems change work.
In 2019, she founded Productive Conflict LLC to bring complexity thinking, conflict resolution, and power dynamics together to coach leaders on how to set conditions for better collaboration, increase productivity, and improve relationships in organizations.
She holds professional certifications as a conflict coach (CINERGY), power intelligence coach (Diamond Leadership), adaptive action coach (Human Systems Dynamics Institute), a Third Party Neutral (Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution), and a Human Systems Dynamics professional (Human Systems Dynamics Institute).
Jennifer is co-editor of The Essential Mary Parker Follett.
Author of Reconciling the Carrot and the Stick.
Contributing Researcher for Introduction to Conflict Studies.
